GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (Friday, October 11, 2013) – Saturday’s race card at Lone Star Park will be non-stop excitement! Scheduled are the $20,000 Guaranteed, Grade 3 Divisional Arabian Stallion Stakes for three-year-olds & up (colt & gelding division and filly & mare division) each at one mile. Plus, three trial races to decide the final field for the Grade 1, Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity at 400 yards to be held Saturday, November 2.
Race two is the $20,000 Grade 3, Arabian Stallion Stakes (colt & gelding division). Heavy morning line favoritism (4-5) has been bestowed on the entry of LUCKY SAND & SO BIG IS BETTER. Both are owned by Mark K. Powell of Bluffdale, Utah and trained by Scott Powell.
SO BIG IS BETTER, a nine-year-old stallion by BURNING SAND has five wins from nine starts this year scoring earnings of $51,125. He is by far the most accomplished horse in this field, with lifetime earnings totaling $251,465 from a career record of 52-23-10-4. And as an added bonus, bettors get a back up in entry mate LUCKY SAND.
Also by BURNING SAND, the three-year-old colt, LUCKY SAND is in the first year of his young career. Although this will be his first stakes competition, his race record so far is 5-2-0-2. The wins were from his last two races. Can he continue the streak?

TWO CHAMPIONS OF 2012 WILL COMPETE IN FILLY & MARE DIVISION OF GRADE 3 ARABIAN STALLION STAKES
The Texas Arabian Breeders Association’s 2012 Champion three-year-old filly, TTT TINY TINA will be seeking her fourth win of the year in the filly & mare division of the Grade 3 Arabian Stallion Stakes Saturday. The four-year-old filly by Mano Y Mano is owned and trained by Kenny Massey and will be ridden by Roberto Meraz, Jr.
Trainer Jerenesto Torrez, TOBA 2012 Champion trainer of the year, will be saddling DC WILLEYS SONG for owner Jon R. Henningsgard. The Torrez trained five-year-old mare by DORAN SBFAR has two wins and two seconds from her last four outs. Her career record of 10-4-2-1 has earned $43,780.

21 ENTERED IN THREE TRIALS – 10 FASTEST WILL ADVANCE TO GRADE 1 SPEEDHORSE PAINT & APPALOOSA FUTURITY TO BE HELD SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 2
Three trials scheduled as races three, four and five will determine the field for the Grade 1 Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity at 400 yards on Saturday, November 2.
In race three, Coal County Line, trained by Dee Keener, is the highest money earner in the trial with earnings of $35,061. Although the gelding by Judys Lineage has not won, he has qualified for and competed it three Grade 1 Futurities this year. His best was a second in the Grade 1, Oklahoma Paint Horse Futurity at Remington Park on March 23. Another to look at is Royal Country Grip. With earnings of $247,515, the gelding by Sm Country Snowman, has a maiden win to his credit and has qualified for and competed in a pair of Grade 1 futurities this year. Royal Country Grip was third in his last, the Dash for Colors Stakes at Will Rogers Downs on September 14.
Race four is all about Imflashinthechicks. Owned by Shirley Wheeler and trained by Luis Villafranco, the gelding by SF Royal Quick Flash has won his last three races. He sports a race record of 9-6-1-1 with earnings totaling $119,346. Impressive for such a young career.
The fifth race has a couple to pay attention to. Major Tom, owned by Mary Hainline and trained by Eddie Willis is three times a winner from four lifetime outs, the miss was a third place finish in the Victoria Ennis Memorial Stakes at Remington Park last April. His most recent was a win in the Grade 1 Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity also at Remington Park June 1. Another of interest in this is Turbulence, a filly by SF Royal Quick Flash, has five wins from seven career attempts, earning $50,088. Her most recent was a win in the Grade 1, Pot O Gold Futurity at Will Rogers Downs on September 28. Turbulence is trained by Kasey Willis and will be ridden by Larry Payne.
