Wagering Age / Can you wager with credit? / Do you have ATMs?

The minimum age to wager is 21 years old and all wagers must be made with cash (no credit card). ATMs are available in various locations. Note that ATMs will not allow cash advance from credit cards (debit card only).

Do you have an age policy?

All ages are welcome however; persons under the age of 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Persons must be at least 21 years old to place a wager.

How much does it cost to enter the park?

General Admission for Live Racing is $10.00 every day except Kentucky Derby Day ($15.00). Reserved seating ranges from $10 per ticket to $100 per ticket. All ticket types are available online at LoneStarPark.com/Tickets. For suites and event rooms, contact our Event Sales team at 972-237-1197. Bar & Book is always Free to enter.

Do you offer online advance Ticket Sales?

Yes! All ticket types are available online, including General Admission. Visit LoneStarPark.com/Tickets.

What are your hours of operations for ticket sales over the phone?

You may call (972) 263-PONY (7669) between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily.

Do you charge for parking?

General and Handicap Parking are free*.  We do offer Valet* for $25.00 each race day except Kentucky Derby Day ($35.00).* We also offer Preferred* parking for $10.00 each race day except Kentucky Derby Day ($20.00).  Valet at Bar & Book is $5*.
*All parking is $20.00 for the Lone Stars & Stripes Fireworks Celebration; Valet service will be unavailable these days.

Where can you park?

General Parking is complimentary and you may enter through Gate 1, 2 or 3.  Enter Gate 4 for Preferred parking. Handicap Parking is also accessible through Gate 4. Valet Parking is accessible through Gate 5.

What time do you open?

Thoroughbred Racing Season: On Thursdays & Fridays, gates will open at 5:00 p.m. with a first race post time of 6:35 p.m.  Saturdays, Sundays and Memorial Day, gates will open at 12:00 p.m. with a first race post time of 1:35 p.m. Triple Crown Days (May 7, May 21 & June 11) gates will open at 10:30 a.m. with a first race  time of 1:35 p.m. The Lone Stars & Stripes Fireworks Festival on July 3rd and 4th will have a gate open time of 3:00 p.m. and a first race post time of 5:00 p.m.

Quarter Horse Season: Every day gates open at 5:00 p.m. and will have a first race post time of 6:05 p.m.

Which Admission Gate should I use?

 Guests should use the East Gate if you need to use the Will Call booth, or have reservations in Silks Dining or in a Suite. Guests should use the West Gate for General Admission. Guests that have reservations on Level 2 can use either gate.

What items are prohibited?

Due to the sensitive nature of our horses, the following items are not permitted on premise during live race days: balloons, flags, noise-makers and recreational balls. At no time are the following items permitted on LSP property: masks that cover the complete face, firearms, mock weapons or confetti. In accordance with penal code 30.06 & 30.07, no firearms are allowed on Lone Star Park property at any time.

Do you allow dogs?

Animals are not permitted in Lone Star Park. However, LSP welcomes guests with disabilities and their service animals or service animals in training. If possible, we encourage support animals to wear a vest or tag for easy identification. The only exception to this rule is on Lone Star Bark on May 22, 2022. See event page for details.

Do you have a dress code?

Our dress code for Level 4 - Silks Dining as well as the Suite Levels on Level 5 & 6 is smart casual attire. Jeans and shorts are acceptable with collared shirts required for men. Ragged or abbreviated clothing is prohibited.

Can I bring in outside food, beverages or a cooler?

Patrons are allowed to bring food, beverages and coolers as long as they remain in the outdoor areas of the facility. All beverages must be in factory sealed containers. No glass containers or anything with alcohol will be permitted. Coolers are subject to search. Lawn chairs and blankets are also permitted in the outdoor areas.

Do you have wheelchair accessibility?

 Lone Star Park is wheel chair accessible and provides handicap seating.

How do I book a group event or suite?

Do you have a re-entry policy?

Patrons are allowed re-entry but must have their hand stamped at the designated exiting gates before leaving to re-enter.  

Do you have Wi-Fi?

 Yes, Wi-Fi is available to our patrons.  You must sign in to the “Public” Wi-Fi and agree to the terms and conditions.

What happens if it is raining? Do you cancel?

We will race in inclement weather. Delays will occur for lightning and may occur during heavy rain fall. We will only cancel in extreme conditions, which are very rare.

If you cancel, can I get a refund on my tickets?

Our Rain Check policy is as follows:  If live racing does not occur for any reason, tickets may be exchanged for the same priced seat on any other live race day within the same season for which tickets are available excluding Premium Event days and special events.  Ticket is not subject to any refund and shall bear no cash value. Any live race day that completes 4 or more races shall be considered a full day of racing. Exclusions apply.

Are you Kid Friendly?

Yes! All ages are welcome to Lone Star Park every live race day. On select days, we offer Family Fun Activities such as bounce houses, pony rides, petting zoos and more. Those dates include: May 1, May 31, June 12 and July 4. Persons under the age of 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Can I bring in an umbrella, tent, or wagon?

Umbrellas are allowed if they can be secured.  A canopy is allowed but only if it can be secured and positioned on the Bar & Book lawn. We do not allow camping tents.  Wagons are permitted since they are treated like strollers.  Please note:  No umbrellas or canopy tents are allowed near the track.  They must be positioned on the Bar & Book lawn near the Bar & Book patio.

Can I mail in my winning ticket/voucher?

Yes, tickets may be cashed by mail.  Please print clearly and send your ticket with name and address to: Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie, Attn: Mutuels Department, 1000 Lone Star Parkway, Grand Prairie, Texas, 75050.  Please send the ticket certified or registered mail, return receipt requested and retain a copy of the ticket for your records.

You may purchase the official live program for Lone Star Park, the Lone Star Today for $5.00. Hard copies are available on site at the Admission Booth as you enter, you may also purchase a ticket for a physical program in advance online during your online ticket buying process or you may purchase a digital pdf version online in advance in the Shop section of our website. Additionally, we offer other publications, tip sheets and more on-site at the Gift Shop.
